Gee, that's pretty, sunfish. As are all of your new "passionate" flowers. I grew 1 once in MD; it was a gift. I had no idea what it was but someone forced it on me in a GW swap I organized. It flowered in purple but then went away the frosts/freezes came without making fruit. (The EX considered it a weed and dug it up like my asparagus and echinops and so much more--hence the EX.)

There are many different Passion fruit all with different taste.

The P.edulis purple fruit are tart and sweet.

I'll keep that in mind and will research such if and when I figure out how to grow a tomato here in my "new land"--one that flowers and doesn't just die. Or beans or cucumbers or zucchini. Yep, I'm failed at zucchini! (Sadly nobody around me gardens successfully either thus I have found none of those huge "only for bread" fruits in the front seat of my Chevy S-10.)

I do have banana peppers producing and maybe butternut squash but only because I've played matchmaker. My banana plant and dead from Walmart so very marked down gardenia are thriving. But otherwise my 1st season here is a bust. (Actually that's not true--I was gifted some plants which are doing well also but I haven't a clue what these happy plants are.)

The Passiflora edulis cultivar "Frederick" has larger fruit than just the species from seed, is a bit better tasting, and more cold hardy by at least a USDA zone. It does not come true from seed -- you'll need to obtain a plant grown from cutting.
