The ash has long term effects of enriching the soil. I do feel for ya'lls situation in the short term. I hope the air clears soon.

Like I once told Lorax, no need for make up in these circumstances.

Can we tax iceland? I propose creating a tax involving volcanic ash offsets for heavy volcanic ash polluting countries such as iceland. I realize this is an inconvenient truth but it is inevitable that Iceland is further contributing toward global cooling.

Ok all joking aside, this could be very serious...much much worse than driving around in your suv or al gore's co2 spewing private jet.

I'm in favor of extra taxation for Iceland. And also strip them of their carbon residue limits for the next 150 years.

And to the second part: If the volcano were to blow up with lava pouring out and everything, one more reason to move away from Europe. Yeaaaay!

Btw. I like the volcano's name: Eyjafjallajokull. What the heck does it mean? And how do you pronounce it? There should be a pronunciation guide in the brackets for this.

I knew some dumbhead was going to publish this on youtube as a part of 2012 prediction. This is just ridiculous.

Ante, let's put our money together and buy some old Russian diesel submarine, it looks like naval travelling is going to be popular these next few months. Or a spaceship module.

Btw. what they describe as a reason is absolutely, absolutely and again: absolutely absurd idea from some really backwards thinking mind.

"...why the planes can't fly... ...(weather) radar works on a principle of detecting water droplets in clouds..." That's just sick how someone puts this on TV. Any electrotechnician or someone with basic courses in EM transmission must be laughing their *** off. Planes can't fly because of a weather radar and dryness of a cloud, right.
What about the glass and rocks flying through air turbines, melting down or causing physical damage to the turbine, wouldn't that be the more likely (and in this case true) argument? Sheeesh.

I would definitely recommend everyone in that TV to take at least the simplest IQ tests for us to find out, whether they actually think about what they say on the air.

I was thinking Brazil or New Zealand. Seeing how the world turns to what we've had here for the past 70 years (USA including), I don't know if I would be making a better choice (or any difference). [see the video in my sig and take it as an abstraction of what's happening all over the world. Listen to one of the last sentences; "I have lived in your future. And it didn't work."] Climatically yes, but generally I would just speak a different language. It's all the same everywhere. This world is dying, we're dying. Humanity is becoming a wound, scar on this planet.

Precisely. But when the winter reigns outside for almost half the year, I have to think about something else.

That's not necessarily true, you can grow super dwarf bananas in pots near a window and supplement the lighting. I grew bananas up in connecticut in a heated basement with only flourescent shop lights! Nevertheless it's better to grow plants outdoors in the warm sun.
