I have never tried to trap a rabbit--my guess is you will have to try to set the trap in a trail that the rabbit uses--I don't know if you can attract them with bait. You might do better with a sticky trap in the trail --nailed to a board! Of course--the pellet gun will work just fine and rabbits are easy to spot at night with those red eyes!

Well I think the bait is already there in the garden waiting to get eaten some more. I'd lay in wait or set a snare and wait for it to start squeeling like they do when hurt or are hurting themselves trying to get away, but are stuck like chuck. :^)

Here's a little rabbit story I found in a news commentary.

A precious little girl walks into a pet shop and asks in the sweetest little lisp,
"Excuthe me, mithter, do you keep widdle wabbits?"
As the shopkeeper's heart melts, he gets down on his knees so that he's on her level, and asks,
"Do you want a widdle white wabbit, or a thoft and fuwwy bwack wabbit, or maybe one like that cute widdle bwown wabbit over there?" She, in turn blushes, rocks on her heels, puts her hands on her knees, leans forward and says in a quiet voice,
"I don't think my python weally gives a thit."

One Bunny down ( the flashlight worked fine.. Bunny stood there like a deer in the headlights) @ least one to go unless I burn him up in the burn pile (bunnies wooden escape capsule) :^) Squirrels are a plenty.. good thing its open season cause its prime time to raise the numbers (after I go get some more ammo) on the kill sheet and lower the damage. :^)

Just think of what the population of squirrels would be if it wasn't for ppl like us Shrek!?
TV news said to watch out for bunnies when you cut grass. There's a lot of bunnies this year & ppl are mowing over their nests and maybe some bunnies. They are not as damaging as squirrels but will eat up your garden.

Well I killed the bunny I shot the other night. It ate up all the neighbor geraniums, and I forgot what else. I just know she was livid... :^) When I told them the bunny is starting to stink wherever it hid, they both smiled and were happy it was dead..They could live with the stink... :^)

The SW trellis now has one pole bean vine intact. The freakin rabbits have eaten up the rest. The amazing thing is the SE trellis is perfect. Every vine has reached the top and been pinched off. Beans for dinner soon.

The difference is there is no gap under the SW fence. Gonna try one more time by ringing the planting bed with heavy 1/4" hardware cloth stapled to the fence. Do you guys think 18" high is enough?

None of the 3 traps have produced in the last 2 weeks. Got desperate enough to try bacala (salt cod) for bait along with peanut butter.

I think you'll be fine. I have never scene a wild or tame rabbit jump that high in the air unless it was a jackrabbit, trapped & trying to get away in a limited space area.

No my neighbor freezes them. Give some to his brothers(8) so not going to waste. :^)
Foots doing much better since I got the powerwheels. Not trying to help the arms move wheels nearly as much, and not falling off the deck head first trying to move plants (in my lap) around either, or having the chair land on me is definately a plus.. :^) Lower decks is off limits (signed last week by my Chief of Staff) lol

My neighbors would definitely report me if I tried shooting the rabbits with an air gun, but something needs to be done. My favorite lilies are eaten before they get 8 inches tall. Forget my baptisias; they are caviar to bunnies. Same with my brugs. So far the only thing that seems to work is human hair brought from the ladies at the hair salon. Keeps them away so far, but it brings the flies in droves. I see them in every size, so I know they're breeding in my backyard, which is enclosed with a wooden fence. I'd love it if they were mowed. Havahart traps didn't work at all. Hate the little buggers.
