No fermented wild boar for this connoisseur, man! Although, I've had wild boar tapa - dried, thinly sliced wild boar meat, pan fried or cooked over charcoal.

The "Balut" is an incubated duck egg that is cooked before hatching. Though recently, merchants have been using chicken eggs for the same purpose because they have a shorter incubation period and more readily available. But they are not as tasty. If you really want to try some, I can send you some. I think I still have your address. Let me know for sure. Anybody else?

Thanks but no thanks Chong. Aren't the beak & feet a little crunchy? Are they just boiled?

If the easter bunny gets in the trap, I promise I'll let him go

You can come by and take all the bunnies you want from my yard...they're eating everything tender except my mercies.

Sure, I will try it! Just be sure that you tell me how to cook it first. I don't want a chick running around on the countertops.

The beak and feet are still soft. The only hard stuff is the albumin. Yep, like Chong says, taste like chicken soup stock. Maybe I have put too many types of crap in my chink mouth to fully appreciate (sorry Chong!).

Ransom the easter bunny for all the choc eggs first, then let it go.

Chong : How/where do you get balut in US? You made them?

Bob do you know that Century Eggs where originally pickled with horse's urine in China in the olden days?

The best ones still come direct from China. I like the ones with the soft oozy yolk. Do you eat them with sliced pickled ginger as it is traditionally?

Yes I did. I made freinds with people at one of the local sushi bars here. Since I'd been going there with a couple of friends for years of course we became freindly with the staff. Actually it was a Malaysian woman who used to make them , they weren't on the menu but we were lucky to get lots of stuff like that. She was transfered to another area . The ones I can buy at the Asian market taste like sulpher or some chemical..................I hope it wasn't urine!

Pete, you declaring war too?! They pulled of figs, citrus, grapes, tomatoes etc whether they were ripe or not...took a bite & left them on the ground. That's why I declared war last year.
You should see the claw marks on my IC from them climbing it.

Since the thread is "wrecked"......, When I was in the Phillipines some of the local banana eating critters there were trapped then cut up, skewered and grilled. This delicacy was "Monkey on a Stick." It was good!

OK, I'm normally quite a tolerant person, but GOOD LORD. J, I'm sure you're not learning disabled, so would you PLEASE try forming complete sentences, checking your spelling, and punctuating properly? It doesn't take a whole lot longer than this horrid little screed, but it makes me (and a number of other people here who are more polite than I am) less likely to completely disregard everything you post. I recognize that the American school system is completely inadequate and that you may not have been taught the fundamentals of grammar, but there are enough good examples right here on this board to learn from.

Thank you.

I have been wanting to try those. Just can't seem to find any good ones here, or that are so small that they fall through the grill.
