Four days after planting, the new Orchad & the Zephyranthes Candida (Fairy lily) are looking & doing super!! Still waiting for the Black bamboo to pop up but the ground is cracking and that's always a Great sign!! Anyway, here are today's pics of the Orchad (larger plant) & the Fairy lilies:
And a close of the Fairy lily blossom that finally opened up: Thanx again, Cherokee Greg !! |

Found 3 plants that a gardener was going to just leave out to die. He said I could take them home
! They were in tiny pots so I potted them up. One's an African Violet, dunno what the other 2 are but they look great! |

Just got some plants in from Jimmy yesterday (thanks jimmy).
Potted up: yellow angel trumpet pink angel trumpet wandering jew Colocasia Pink China I will post pics when I get my camera replaced. aaron EDIT: After potting my new plants, a friend told me that angel trumpets are highly toxic. ( I was not familiar with them previous to now) Does anybody have any experience with them? Should I be concerned. I have small children at home. They wont put them in their mouths, but they do occasionally touch the plants. Should I be concerned with them in my home? thanks Last edited by browndrake : 11-03-2009 at 02:36 PM. Thanx Brad (ArchAngel01)!!
The 3' Pindo palm (Butia Capitata) & Palmetto palm both arrived like they came right from a store... Perfect & Super Healthy !!These are the first palms I've ever had (that were strictly mine)!! Btw, got both of the Palmetto palm seedlings. Only reason one's missing in the photo is cause I let one of my brothers have one... possible future member of the org...? Never know, eh!? The Pindo's in Super shape Deluxe !! Not one frond bent or broken, yay!!Planted both palms in more than 50% sand mix since they dont like wet feet. Will find out what plant food's best for them. Will grow them inside through the winter, then put them outside .Here's the pics, before & after potting: Ante says I'm Palm Addicted now........ Think he's totally Right !! |
