Joy Re: What is blooming in your garden today (other plants)?

Hi everyone,

Beautiful Images. I have joined a bit late some of my flowers are now gone.

Four baskets of flowers. Violas, Petunias, Fuchia, Million Bells.

In pots waiting on:

6 Turish Lillies, red ones.
Dahlia
Rose
Fuchias
Begonias
3 Acers.
Weeping Salix
Growing a creeping Tenerife plant with orange flowers.
A Cycas Palm..varigated till it flushes.
An Abies Koreana Fur.
Some unknowns, some just hav'nt made it and vanished.

Today a new plant; Sambucus nigra Black Lace. Its very much like a Maple leaf to look at, probably why I bought it. Its supposed to have pink flowers.

Everything is so slow because we just hav'nt got good heat and its quite windy.

Well, what is blooming in "my garden" or in this case the front yard is mainly the ground covers. The canna
went out only the last week or so and are still a long way from flowering and the roses are also not due for at least
another 3 weeks,

One half of the front yard. The other half includes my 'tropical section', but as such is still 'work in progress for some time to come

Thank you Orinoko, I actually started this ground cover business as a form of weed control, after I took out the
lawn. And as such it is highly effective. The only things, which get through this mat of vegetation are bulb plants,
such as daffodils, tulips and crocus.

It takes about 2 to 3 years to establish, but after that it is a lot less work than the equivalent lawn area

That will be even more amazing sight Olafhenny when the spring bulbs shoot through. I love how it looks and a great Idea in garden design.

I can't get anywhere near my back lawn, we're being battered at the moment with heavy rain and bad gusts of wind. I have been waiting a week just to mow it. Maybe one day I will try that desgn...its awesome!
