And I don't. He planted a seed and this is what grew. Was it from something he ate? Maybe. I've found what appear to be avocado seeds in his lawn; he doesn't eat those but IME squirrels drag all sorts of stuff around and one of their gifts might have found its way into a pot....
Yes, I know I've been AWOL. I've been busy gardening. In this heat! Proof? I let this bunch ripen on the stem. Why? It happened nearly overnight! Darn! Sideways...but still tasty!

It looks like an avocado. If it's from a seed, it will be a few years before it fruits. It will need winter protection for the first few years.
