Grafted. I can PM the nursery guy in West Palm to get the details. I have discovered the grafted guys grow out faster and fruit sooner as long as they stay in containers. Just saw that the Pickering and NDM have started new leaves. Of course the Glenn is full of them. I'm thinking of selling the Glenn cause it takes too much room and the fruit taste is good for a narrow window of ripeness. Then it tastes not so good. Many people hate it altogether.
I'm pretty flexible as I like some fiber and some sour terpentine flavor in many mangos. The only one I refuse to eat is good ol' TA! Tommy Atkins - yuck. lol |

My NDM#4 just finished a nice flush of leaves (kinda looking like it wants one more). My Mallika, Southern Blush, Lemon Zest, Kent and one of my Coconut Creams are all revved up and ready to go, just waiting for something to pull the trigger.

I saw some guy in you tube looked like a South American Grower , " Graft a Basjoo With Some Type Of Edible Banana , He Cut Both Pups At The Corm On a 45 Degree angle & Taped Or Tide Both Trees & Planted Them.
Never Made A Follow Up Vid Of The Results , Would Be Nice To Have a Banana Plant Hardy as The Basjoo & Edible ! It Is worth Trying , woner what the pups look like . Heres The Grafting Vid. Last edited by edzone9 : 11-22-2012 at 10:01 PM. |
