Default What a surprise and disappointment

I moved out my Gran Nain and Icecream two weeks ago into the yard after a winter in dormancy inside my garage.
Unfortunately I stupidly put a black bag over the top of the plants and they both rotted at the top.
I have cut away all the parts that looked rotten but they are still not out of the woods. So sad since the Icecream was huge,
we barely managed to get it into the garage for winter storage. I also believe the Gran Nain is big enough to put out a flower.

But I had a few stems left that were from an unknown variety from Costco and I forgot what kind but it is an edible banana.
Today I looked at one of the two and noticed a strange leaf. Low and behold it had flowered in the garage!
I took it out immediately without waiting for next weekend which was my original plan since they both looked pretty bad.
But unfortunately the one that flowered was rotten beyond salvation. The other one (almost as big as the mother plant which rotted) I put in the ground today and even with a cold night (mid 30s here in Dallas) they promise great weather 70-80s for the rest of the week so I hope it will make it. Same thing with the Icecream and Gran Nain.

Should I leave the two alone or keep cutting away tissue that seems rotten as it develops. They both have started to put out new leaves, the Icecream more so than the Gran Nain. Will a banana "heal" itself once the temperature goes up and it starts growing more actively or should I keep trimming? I am scared it will eventually be nothing left...

Any advice?
I have included the sad picture of what was first a fantastic surprise that turned into disappointment.

First the nice surprise:

then the disappointment:

finally the death sentence:

Rotten stuff has to go. I spreads to other areas with which it is in contact.
