pottasium?
some of the members are giving their plants potassium. can not find a cheap npk fertilizer. how do you give them potassium? grind a bunch of pills up?

haha ... pills would work, but expensive. .... Try 'wood ashes' as in burned yard (limbs and such) waste. ... Free!! ... Wood ashes in a large bucket or barrel and drain water thought the ashes is how potash/lye is made. ... A shovel full should be more than enough for a couple of plant for the year. Don't put directly on the plant but in a circle a few inches away.
By-the-way, wood ashes; potash; or lye is how the old timers killed nematodes & root bores on their fruit trees.

thank you. after the last 2 hurricanes I now have something to do with the ashes. thanks for really great ifno. got a fire going right now. fill em up buckets.
