Hello,

I just bought a plant from someone last Saturday. I planted it within a few hours and he provided it in some compost (or manure not really sure). Since I planted it I've been watering it daily, sometimes twice a day. Today I just noticed the leaves are already yellowing! Am I watering too much? Do I need to do something different to plant it? I planted it with the compost all around it, then put the regular soil back on top. So it should be surrounded by compost beneath the soil. Picture is below.

Hi there, could be over watering or....
Transplant shock, increase/decrease sun exposure if you add your location we can help you better, it may just need time to settle in.
Bananas also don't like to be wet out of season.

Sorry I should have added all that. I am in San Diego. It should be getting more than half day sun where I planted it. The weather should be plenty of warm here, in fact it's been pretty hot the past few days (hit 90 or so yesterday).

Hottest week of the year here is San Diego. Transplant shock. If you can, add some shade. It may look worse before it looks better. Patience.

So I'm happy to report that my plant bounced back. But now it seems to have stopped growing. Some of the leaves seem a little droopy. One new leave has not flopped over, and my wife said the whole plant looks yellowish green instead of deep emerald. I moved it from a pot to the ground about a week or so ago, could that be the reason? I also found some webs on the stalk. I'm guessing those could be spider mites....
