If a person looks for the Kepler and Rust banana book (The World of Bananas in Hawaii: Then and Now") on Amazon, one usually finds it for sale *used* for *hundreds* of dollars, if it can be found at all. A much better bet, that people don't think about, is to buy it *new* from the Univ. of Hawaii Press. Right now it is on sale for $48 instead of the normal price of $80!

Would this be useful for someone growing in zone 6b - i.e. pots and greenhouse?

I think the Kepler and Rust book is useful for anyone who wants to know about all kinds of bananas. It doesn't get into growing bananas in different zones, but then that is a matter of winter protection and your fellow local growers probably are the best bet regarding that.

Well, Akula, keep in mind that it is a big heavy book and it's coming from Hawaii. So it was probably shipped by, well a ship!

It will be worth it when you get it. I don't know how long it should take because I bought mine used from BooksAMillion. I paid as much for one used as a new one would cost. That would be OK, except that it is hard to find even used at that price.
