By trees you mean bananas, right? Can you post a pic? Does the mat have any pups showing?

Your pics may be too large for the Photo Gallery, I think they need to be 2MB or smaller.

need to introduce yourself in member introductions. what part of ne florida. I live in middleburg.

your plant might grow back. if it does not it will probably grow back as pups. be patient. dry as it is here make sure it is watered, don't drown it.

IF the center doesn't start pushing growth within a week of being cut then probably the main plant is dead but you will get pups if the corm is still healthy and I imagine that is the case.

Fingers crossed!

thank you so much as far as watering goes its supposed to be in 95 to 100s rest of the week water once a day? I went out after work this evening still is wet at top like it appears to still be alive just don't want to over water it all new to this. Thanks again should I give it 2 weeks before I should give up on it or longer? Wasn't sure as it was so wide vs the others if it just took longer.

Apply a medium - low - high NPK fertilizer around the trunk of the severed pstem. Two foot diameter circle. And watch the pups pop!

The mama looks large enough to produce 3 to 4 pups. Here in Florida we are in the peak heat season and your plant should take off fast.
