In case anyone lives in the area and wants to taste them, The Vitamin Cottage / Natural Grocer at 11402 S Parker Rd, Parker, CO 80134 has what it called Thai bananas, also lemon bananas but also calls them Namwa in the description. They also have apple bananas, organic, of course.
I assume these are the same Namwah we all talk about...

Yes, they sure look like Namwahs. Interesting to call them Lemon bananas. Nothing lemony about them aside from also being yellow.

Lemony? I thought that was weird too. Maybe they are not true Namwah's. Has anyone from the Denver area tried them?

I have eaten lots of Namwah, but never with a lemon flavor.
Very cool the price per pound though: $3.29 or even $3.59 for the Apple bananas, wow super pricey. |

People in Parker Colorado can afford them. Half million is about the average home price.
I have eaten two and they have very little flavor at all, like a watered down Cavendish. I was told to wait until they were pretty ripe to taste good. I am waiting. Are they really much more nutritious than Cavendish?

Although my wife liked them, I did not find these Namwah bananas to be very tasty. They were like "fluffy" yet kinda firm and lacking in flavor. Kind of like meringue... Sweet with a very mild flavor. Not bad, just not very good. And I thought the seeds were pretty big, too.

houses around here on the San Francisco peninsula are $1M minimum, and we don't see exotic bananas priced that high...
