Don't know if these have been posted here, but I found these today on the net. Very interesting! The overview has color pictures, the first one of which is labeled as "'Manini' - A Variegated Hawaiian Banana". And it looks like an Ae-Ae. Nowhere in the article does it mention the Ae-Ae, though.

Another interesting thing I found was that although the Señorita and the Pisang Mas are AA cultivars, only Pisang Mas is listed with the Sucrier group. Instead the Philippine equivalent to P. Mas are Amas, Caramelo, and Komoros.

Also, it specifically points out that the Philippine Lacatan (AA) should not be confused with the Cavendish Lacatan (AAA).

All these being in the "Inarnibal" (Philippine) Sub-groups.

Thank you for posting such interesting articles. I love this type of information. It does mention the AeAe briefly in the first article you posted, but you have to look really closely. ^_^
