Out of those who got Fe'i from Ty Taylor, how many are still alive? Mine died (my own fault).

Anyone growing Fe'i from elsewhere?

They are supposed to be a tall banana and I have had bad luck with tall bananas.

Has anyone heard from Ty, for that matter? I don't see anything for sale by him on Ebay.

I have the Fei 'Aiuri' growing from the Agristarts tissue culture batch. Do you know what type you had before? I am really interested in getting other types. I haven't fruited it yet but they are getting up to size. Very slow growing compared to others.

Mine were supposed to be Fe'i 'Aiuri' and I got them from Ty Taylor. I killed 'em. My fault, I think.

They are fussy. I killed the first one I had. The second one I planted out was more developed in the pot and I put it in a very sheltered location with rich acid soil and heavy mulch. I am hoping they are easier to start from more developed pups instead of TC.

My Fei 'Aiuri died, as well my plant came from another org member and was a tc. I am not going to attempt again. I have my 1 verigated that I have been coddling for 2yrs which is doing OK and I am good with that. FEI IS beautiful and I would love to someone on here take her all the way.

TY Taylor is doing just fine, spoke to him this past week. They are doing a lot of clean up and re evaluating & and starting to expand into some other topicals. I am sure in the near future we will be seeing him.

I have heard of someone fruiting Fei in Tampa, FL but I don't know what variety. I think this was before the TC plants but not certain. It would be so cool to see it in person and get to eat some that you managed to push along. I'm not super active here but I'll make sure to post if I somehow manage to get that far. I'm giving her all she's got captain!

I just found and bought a Fe'i Aiuri TC on Ebay for $13 shipped.
For 13 bucks I'll give it a shot.. let's see how it goes

thanks valor x, I snagged a few.

I had one I got from greendreams but it came with an order that was put in a big box without any packing or securing so most came broken stems and such. It made it a few days before dying completely. I'll baby these in pots for a month before introducing to the banana grove.

If you got it from fibonacci279 on ebay he's a new seller and looks like he's not even planting them. He's actually hit me up for tips on selling plants.
If you get them and they are still just plugs and not hardened off, good luck.
I've killed quite a few Fe'i, they are a hard one even here in San Diego.

OK update Ty Taylor Bananapups.org isnt the tye that passed . i just messaged Tys mom Laura his mother. she told me he was live and well that the elder ty who passed . so that said i also let her know i needed to talk to TY because all 3 of the Bananas he sold me where Not what he told me and i asked for 2 that flowered last summer ALLEGED namwas had HUGE seeds in them and the Blue Java looks exactly the same . she told him but Ty hasnt had the nut sack to contact me back so im assuming he Knew and didnt care. Good luck if you buy anything from him according to his web site Bananapups.org he sold out. for the Yr . im thinking he owes alot of people some explanations and some manry back so hes hiding in the wood pile in TX. as you can see im not happy i talked to ty for over 5 yrs i thought we where friends but seemd all he wanted was Money

Hi Tammy that’s awesome I’m happy for you. A family member said you had contacted them. I haven’t done much with bananas in the past few years since i had to go back to work full time. I still have a few in the greenhouse but we had bad winters a couple of years that really messed things up.

Once the flower the bunch they make is already determined. Sometimes they will be huge heathy bunches with 10 hands sometimes 1 or no hands like one I have flowering now. It depends on alot of factors. The cold usually messes up mine sometimes. Going dormant and out of dormancy. You can give them a little potassium fert it will help them fill a little quicker. But just keep doing what you’re doing and they should be fine. I would love to see some pictures.
