Actually that is not propagating by cutting. It is damaging the corn and forcing the existing nodes to growing. You can get many more plantlets by damaging the meristem of the corm to allow the nodes to grow without cutting the corm into sections. Just cut the plantlets from the side of the corm after a few roots start to grow.
