Default First time digging up water suckers and

I was really surprised at the roots they had developed. Even the tiny one to the right had a few solid roots, not sure if it had much corm at the base of the bulb but we’ll see since I potted all 3 up. The largest one has a huge chunk of corm off to the side and tons of roots so it should do well.

I used a drain spade and that was incredibly helpful. I dug up two pups about a month ago on a different dwarf cavendish with a standard spade and I sliced them too shallow , missed roots and corm.. I also buried a dead rat my daughter found in the hole where the pups were and sprinkled fertilizer lol.

Pot them up and see what happens. True skinny water suckers I generally toss. Have never had them perform well.

I potted all 3 of them up, even the small one and they’re in mostly shade for now.

Yeah they look good! I've read from old posts in this forum that if you actually grow out water suckers they tend to put out much bigger bunches than their sword pup counterparts. I'd like to test this out one day.

Also, what kind of banana is it? The leaves look like cavendish to me

Yep dwarf cavendish. Yeah I’m really excited to see how they do compared to some of the sword suckers I’ll inevitably remove. I’ll have to give one to my mom or a nearby friend so I can keep an eye on it. For now though I’m going to give them a few weeks to transition before the go anywhere.

Yep, I knew it!
Dwarf Cavendish must pup a lot in general because mine is putting out several as well.
I just re-read your original post and saw that you buried a rat in the hole! That's funny
