Default Coffee grounds and gophers

Does anyone know if coffee grounds deter gophers? I have been spreeding coffee grounds around my yard in a test patch to see how they will do. I also mixed a little bit of grounds with water and poured it around a new gopher mound.
Today I found 2-3 big gopher piles in my lentils, lentils untouched. I am wondering if the coffee is pushing the gopher into a new area? The gopher piles have never been this big. I think it lives in our yard and eats on the other side of the fence in the open area. So the piles are usually small, like it is just making some room. These are very big though.
I am going to get more today and keep spreading them in the yard and see what happens.

I live in the Pacific Northwest, and some folks up here swear by mint- cooking fresh mint in water to make a pot of mint tea and pouring it down the holes. Hypotheses range from them just not liking mint, to it interfering with their sense of smell. We've got 3 acres, so there isn't enough mint to bother at our place...

Try planting some castor plants too. I now it's usually for moles, but try it for the
gophers too. The oils in the mint roots might not feel good on their fur besides
the strong scent.

The best option is a trap. The only good gopher is a dead gopher. There is no such thing as peaceful coexistence.

I'm with pitangadiego. The only reason you have gopher problems is because people have driven off their predators. Now its your job. Here's how I deal with them: Gopher Madness

I have tried a trap many times, this gopher is not having it. The coffee thing just might be a nice side effect.

They are still here, I think that is why it is in my yard because the predators are not. I have given up on killing it.

We do have mint growing in the back yard I wonder if that is why it is never in that corner of the yard

Never met a gopher I couldn't trap. Never. Some take some patience, and more than one try, and you have to destroy their tunnels, and out think them a little, but never met one I couldn't trap.

See Tool Talk Discussion Board - Re: Anyone tried a Gophernator? for another idea, if you aren't getting anywhere with traps.
