I was told this was a dwarf red. I am new to growing bananas so if anyone could tell me if this plant needs any maintenance as far as pruning. There are about 6 pups and some of them are half the size of the mother. The plant seems very healthy and seems to be growing pretty good right now, the days are starting to get longer here in Canada. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have been growing banana plants for about 13 years now an had 22 different types im not the smartest but i know a little something.what color is the stem? from the look of it i would say a hardy banana (musa basjoo)but i would need to see the stem first if you have a picture of the stem, because there are many red banana plants that have amazing green leafs with red stems like jamaican red banana.do you put it out side at all?

It has wine splotches. Probably a Cavendish variety. Looks too tall to be SDC, so maybe DC?
