I'm new here. Just started planting bananas two years ago. Last year some of them got to ten feet. In the fall I wrapped them in bubble wrap and by the beginning of spring, they had drooped to about four feet. When I unwrapped them, they were good to go at four feet, and have started rising up from there.
I would appreciate any tips for growing (or wintering) in zone 7. |

Howdy, I thought I read on here somewhere that if theres one thing deer won't eat, it's banana plants, you can plant as many as you want.
I live WAY out in the woods, nobody else out here, just me, bears and thousands of deer. I went out this morning, and one of my young plants is eaten right to the ground! |

Good thing you don't have wild pigs, they would've rooted out the corm too & ate that to boot.. :^)
