I'm new to the banana growing world and Iv been growing musa basjoo, and ensete ventricosum abyssinian, I live in southern CA, and growing plants are fun, but I still need some tips on how to grow them best.

On a traffic light green means go and yellow means yield, but on a banana it's just the opposite. Green means hold on, yellow means go ahead, and red means where the hell did you get that banana at...

Hey Nick, don't agonize over it. I dig a hole, drop in the banana, water good, cover it and feed it on a regular basis.

If I get into red clay then I do amend the soil. Also, since I tend to flood I plant a little high. They do respond to compost with rapid strong growth.
