I'm new to the banana growing world and Iv been growing musa basjoo, and ensete ventricosum abyssinian, I live in southern CA, and growing plants are fun, but I still need some tips on how to grow them best.

Hey Nick, don't agonize over it. I dig a hole, drop in the banana, water good, cover it and feed it on a regular basis.
If I get into red clay then I do amend the soil. Also, since I tend to flood I plant a little high. They do respond to compost with rapid strong growth. Happy growing. Terry |
