I am a recent convert to bananas. I have enjoyed plants for a while, but I thought bananas would be difficult to grow. I bought an ice cream banana(hopefully blue java?) on sale. After it was able to overwinter in North Florida and grow like crazy, I decided I liked bananas. Looking forward to learning some things.

I put up a wishlist for Orinoco, Saba, Mysore, and Musa Itinerans var xishuangbannaensis. If there are more bananas that will grow well here I am definitely open to them, I'm enjoying the ease with which these monsters grow. Edit: To answer your question, I'm in Tally lol. I've tried every variety mentioned.
EXCEPT Viente Cohol (I've heard is extremely overrated) and Kokopo... In 8b North Central Floriduh. By FAR the Californina Gold ROCKS IT year after year for me. |

Thank you for the advice! I'm generally looking for tall banana plants, but I might give it a try eventually. Sounds like quite a hardy plant.
