Welcome!

The bulb root matter on the banana plant is commonly called the "corm". It's the potato-like mass that lies under the soil line from where the pseudostem emerges.

So you know, we have a special category in the photo gallery just for banana diagrams.

http://www.bananas.org/gallery/showgallery.php?cat=593

Make sure to look for the page 2 link and click it so you see everything on all the pages inside that category.
Also note that when you click the little thumbnail photo to see the larger photo, if you then again click the larger photo, it may get even larger, depending on the original size if the photo.

Welcome aboard, once again!

Sure thing!
All the gallery categories are listed on the gallery homepage:
http://www.bananas.org/gallery
( somewhat like the forum categories from the main homepage )
There's a lot of information presented on our website. Finding it and using it requires a bit of a learning curve in places, but we try and keep it organized and easy.

I have a couple e-bay guides about growing bananas potted as houseplants and one about growing banana plants outdoors in cold areas.
They can both be reached easily for reading by going to my website, www.northerntropics.com and then looking at the right side of the home page. They are clickable links. I think they would help someone new to bananas. I know it took me a while to learn what I have about them. When I started, I didn't know anyone who could give me any suggestions with them at all. All I got was "You can't grow them things up here!"
Have fun! most of all
