zergas, reading your postI decided to check on mine. I stored two basjoos out of the pot and dormant. kept them in the dark at about 60 degrees. when I checked them this morning, the stems were almost completely withered away. I panicked (being a novice) and potted them up an watered them. I think if I left them the way they were, I would have nothing by spring. Maybe your doing the right thing.
