How can they say it's dead when they probrobly have no idea about bananas in the first place!!! you will show them!!! i think you did the right thing by cutting the leaves off ,but you will have to wait longer on fruit maybe ,you know whats funny?! i had a large 15 foot palmetto hauled up to my house in zone 6b-7a-ish and everyone called me crazzy and said it wood be dead by first frost ..................i showed them!! its huge now and does just fine
