From what I've read, any banana can flower in a pot as long as it has had its number-of-leaves-before-it-will-flower. But if it stands in a pot, it will probably take a lot longer before it will flower and the flower and fruit won't develop as big as they would if the plant had more soil/food at its disposition. But hey, this is the experts opinion of someone who got into bananas about 3 months ago.
