Vegetative offshoot is going to be understood worldwide whereas pup is an American hobbyist term. Seed is probably most commonly used throughout the world but it confuses some Americans.

A'ea'e is commonly used by American Hobbyists when writing but because they don't know how to pronounce it they'll spell it out when speaking. I've never heard anyone say a'ea'e besides on a recording while Manini is the name commonly spoken.
