a few thoughts.
you know those little packets of ketchup, mustard, syrup and hot sauce you have been throwing away.
in my gallon jug of whatever, mainly fish fertilizer, coffee and beer, makes a mix that is potent. putting it around the plants lightly once a week is too much. some plants say OUCH, but not all. i have never over fertilized my bananas before. holes in leaves on some, a little brown edging on the leaves on some, but all in all they have not been hurt. i just slacked off for a month.
the difference between not fertilizing last year and heavy fertilizing this year is a world of difference. my plants this year have jumped remarkably.
