That's a great question - I don't quite know! Google images shows mostly green bananas when I search "Ice Cream Namwa banana" vs more bluish ones with "Blue Java banana", and folks seem to be able to clearly tell the difference when flowering/fruiting. Do the bananas actually look very similar?
