Re: Pop-up nuisance only on bananas.org
Humm ... I can't be of much more help without an iPhone in my hand. ... Anyway I just looked at the source code of Bananas.org homepage. I didn't see anything that looked suspicious. However, the page does link to Google Adds (java script) and Facebook java scripts (adds?). So the problem might be coming from those; but doubtful of Google; ... Facebook, I don't know. ... I try to block Google adds on my system. I don't want that crap.
A few suggestions if you guys want to try them:
* Check auto opening apps for OS startup; user login; and Safari (Safari can auto start apps too) Look for anything you don't recognize and kill it.
* Check Safari home page link for extra code. This happen to me on Windows & Firefox about a year ago. I don't remember the specific details right now. But the code simply reloaded malware from a website at browser startup. ... I presume you guys do know browsers can open & hide a webpage window from view without you knowing.
* Setup a new user account and then under that 'clean' account install a DIFFERENT browser. Does the problem still exist when opening the Bananas.org page? If not, the problem is definitely on your iPhone. If the problem still exist then, may be/ may be not.
* I know this may be a pain but, ... if all else fails: backup your data and reset/re-install the system clean and basic apps if needed. Now if the problem still exist, the malware is coming from a network source; may be Bananas.org - may be not.
