Re: Notice Regarding Spam Posts
Thanks for your continued help in notifying me of spammers. Again, the most effective way is to click on the little red & white triangle "report post" button on the left side below the offending poster's ID. This gives me a link to the post as well as notify other moderators if I'm not available.
I wrote to site owner Jarred about this continuing problem. He thanked me for my help and I'll continue doing so as time allows (takes just a couple of minutes now to ban and delete hundreds of spam posts). He indicated he did add a captcha requirement with the registration but that this is easily defeated. He said he'd like to do a more modern update to the site that would help take care of the problem but there are many features in our site (gallery, wiki, auction, bananabucks, etc. that would be lost without spending a few weeks of time to make the change and he just does not have that time now. So I ask you to persevere and hope that these folks will eventually give up. We can nope, at least.
