Hello everyone, this is my first post so please bear with me. I got a banana plant from my daughter the first of august this year (my first nanner). It is supposed to be some sort of ladyfinger, but she is not sure. When i planted it it was about 18 inches tall. Now it is about four feet tall. About a month ago it put out three pups ...and then another...and then another. Total of five now. It is still growing about a leaf a week here in zone 8. I do have it in a make shift heated greenhouse. My daughter has hers growing outside unprotected but against the house 30 miles north of me. My question is does this mean it is happy and doing well, or am i over fertilizing it, and do i need to remove pups and keep just one for now? Or should i let a mat form before removing pups? I've heard both ways. Please advise.
