With so many banana cultivars, there's no question that there is a lot of variation within genotypes. But there are pretty big average differences between genotypes. Don't look to the all A genotypes for cold tolerance. Though I wonder if the East African Highland bananas might be an exception. I've never had the opportunity to grow any of them.
