That's not a red banana, it's a Maurellii. It's an ornamental species that's not in the same genus as edible bananas, but it's closely related. They're very commonly grown around here and they do well here in the valley. How often are you fertilizing it, and with how much? Also, you may want to stick it in the ground sometime soon if you have room. Preferably in full sun.
