Default Re: reliable source of texas star

I bought several banana plants from Ty Ty. They were advertised as "Texas Star". After reading this blog I am wondering what I have. What I am looking for is a banana that will grow in Central Tx. (Temple Tx.) that has good eating qualities. Is there such a banana Plant and who sells it. I have two years invested in my plants and don't want to waste any more time.
I have no problem digging them up and adding them to the compost pile.
So anyone in here who can recommend a cold hardy, good eating banana, your assistance would be greately appreciated.
