This question is best posted in the COLD HARDY forums. There are plenty of members in that forum posting their uncovered basjoos. Take a look at some pictures posted in this thread: Uncovered basjoos in zone 6 . Rotted is good... ironically. If it doesn't grow back from the center of the corm, it'll shoot new ones through the sides.
