I have a full step-by-step description of how to change your email notifications
here. This is one of the posts in the "LilRaverBoi's Helpful Hints" thread I made which is stickied at the top of the Site Help & Feedback forum.
Basically go to the user CP, click on 'edit options' on the left bar, then scroll down to the drop-down menu under 'default thread subscription mode.' Change that to 'no email notifications' and you're good!
