This is enseten ventricosum, possibly Tarranda Red/Red Stripe or some red-petioled variety.
There is no nutrient decedent or anything, the plant looks fine to me.

Same experience here with the Mekong Giant, I guess it needs a lot of heat to get going. Growing them in the US is absolutely not the same as in europe!
Musa sp Yangtze seems to be Musa yunnanensis...

Musa needs fluctuation, but especially the colder-growing ones,...like basjoo, sikki, itinerans ect. Zebrina is a tropiscl one I'd say, but velutina might like fluctuations.
Ensetes for this matter...

Most sellers buy their seeds from the same few growers abroad and the seeds are stored untill they are sold. If you're lucky the seler keeps the seeds in the fridge untill that time, but not many do....
