Re: Is anyone growing balbisiana Tani from seed
I messaged Gabe with this question and posted his replied because it might be helpful to other members. There were some photos so it might take a while depending on how the site is running.

Re: Vertical Propagation
I'm just hoping that it's easily understood.
A growing point is constantly on the move and the grower can manipulate this for propagation.
A hobbyist can buy a variegated A'ea'e and move the GP up...

Re: Variegated Namwa
It has exceeded my expectations. It holds 9 leaves now, puts out a new leaf every 2 weeks, and does not skip a beat. All my other bananas just keep a leaf or two or even none over winter. Will try to...

Re: Variegated Namwa
I really don't know and it seems unlikely that a wild banana is female infertile but that's what I'm leaning towards. I've harvested well over a million seeds and not to get one good seed seems...

Re: Vertical Propagation
The growing point is the plant, the roots can be removed, the leaves can be removed, the pseudostem can be removed and the growing point will regrow to the same exact plant because it is the same...

Re: An Update Of My Latest Nana Plants 2018!
Hector stopped growing bananas, before Covid. I was so sad when he told me. He is a great guy and a huge loss to this forum, hopefully someone like yourself Larry, can take up the mantle, of having a...

Re: Variegated Namwa
Seed squeezing is an important method I used to test seed viability. A bad seed will crush with less pressure than a good seed.
When I sell seeds I always send plenty of extras. Extra seeds give...

Vertical Propagation
I'm going to be doing a bunch of these today and I highly recommend this method for members that are growing variegated bananas that do not want to risk or damage their plant.
This can be done in a...

Re: Is anyone growing balbisiana Tani from seed
Here's a Tani grower with a beautiful plant. Hopefully member WildernessGreen will have viable seeds in the future.
More members should grow this variegated variety because it's green and white...

Re: Variegated Namwa
Banana seeds are not going to damage anyone's teeth. They can easily be crushed by squeezing them between your fingers, and teeth are harder than fingers.

Re: Variegated Banana Seeds
The goal should be 16 days to break ground.
Horse manure can be substituted with most fibrous materials. I use horse manure because it's easy to work with, the slurry can be poured to fit any shape...
