Do Tissue Culture bananas need special care?

I bought some from Agri Starts about 4 years ago. They were great in the greenhouse but seemed to burn up when placed in the hot South Texas Sun.

Are there differences in TC banana care?

Bananas planted with Water Lilies- compatible?

The water lilies are already there. They have taken up the shoreline on much of my wildlife area.

The lilies were easy to just pull up to clear some space and I planted some one year old...

A pineapple tastes like a pineapple... I've seen people growing them by cutting off the top.

I planted one of my AFR's in the middle of a forest of cannas and wild bananas maybe that will shield...

I ordered 72 of them from Agristarts. They do pretty well in the greenhouse with 75% surviving after a few months. Some have gotten pretty big. Outside even in South Texas, they haven't done so...

Yeah I know where that is - many years ago I applied for City Manager in Weatherford TX - Springtown and they said they'd rather I run for DA there. I ended up going to Denton, but like the coast...

OH yes those HOA's can be obnoxious. Im right on the water so technically not part of my snobby neighborhood but they are right across the street.

I do have a patch of "jungle" I think it looks...

Randy most of my neighbors have the exact same yards. Neatly manicured lawns - a palm tree or two and maybe a hedge of sorts and a couple of flowers. Their gardeners come by each week or two to make...

Due to a combination of hot South Texas sun and scooping out excess water with Big Gulp platic cups they are all relatively dry now. No fatalities but a few died from too much sun (diff thread).

There are only about 10 that are really in deep. Im hoping tomw will be sunny and maybe some of it will dry up.

The weather is warm though- so far the plants don't look too bad

You gave me a great idea - I can put one stake in and a pot over the stake that should allow substantially more shade time. The pot wont reach anywhere near the ground so it shouldnt be too...

Yeah after I thought about it - I realized one can't leave seeds wet for all that time. Maybe Ill put some in trays and store the rest for 6 months.

Next time I want something from Rare Palm seeds...

NO more wife but I usually have a pet rabbit. Maybe I should let him watch the bananas and settle for looking at pictures of the plants online.

The plants in the greenhouse are all in pots- outside they are in the ground. I do have some outside in pots as well. The ones Im referring to went from the greenhouse to the yard.

I can't even remember all the varieties - and don't want to open the package. I would gues that there are about 1000 eac of three of the less expensive varieties they offer and 100 each of 10more...

Well I went overboard and have about 450 plants from Agri-start. I had hoped to have my wildlife area ready to plant but all the South Texas rain put a damper on my plants.
