What do you all do with all your ripe bananas that ripen at once? I need to deal with about 20 pounds of nanners right now. HELP!

Re: What did you harvest today (bananas)

Is it wise to just harvest the entire bunch when only a few are ripe? I am trying to decide what to do. I just noticed this morning a few getting ripe on my Dwarf Namwah bunch and I'm wondering if I...

Re: Bitter cold on the way

Thanks. I don't think the ambient temp. is going to be too bad. The wind is horrible out there and that was my biggest concern, but I guess it's not really a concern. I knew you would have all the...

Re: Bitter cold on the way

I'm in Sarasota, FL and even though the ambient temperature won't probably make it all the way down to freezing, the windchill is expected to be in the 20's tonight and colder tomorrow night. I have...

Re: What did you harvest today (bananas)

I am not sure what these are. I got this plant as a pup from one of the members here but was told it was an ice cream. Regardless, they are very good, but anyone want to gander a guess on what they...

Re: Hello Ae Lovers

It's a scam. This person who calls themselves Linda Dibb tonkel says they are from MN, then they say it's the last one and they show you a photo that was taken from this site of a Ae Ae pup but...

Re: Ice cream blue java

Well, I don't know what to make of your comments. Is it or isn't it? First you say wrong then you say right but not. So, what is it? Or do you even know?

Re: Ae Ae with three pups! Yay!

This pstem isn't dying, it is just a bit weak and wimpy. I've had to cut numerous leaves off due to being dried up and burnt or broken from wind etc. It is about 5'4" tall and has grown very slowly....

Re: Ae Ae with three pups! Yay!

YIKES! I could potentially see myself doing that with something that is not so precious to me, but I could never do this drastic measure to my Ae Ae! Best to experiment on something that didn't cost...

Re: Ae Ae with three pups! Yay!

Hi again,

It was suggested to me privately by one of our members that I cut the main pstem to 6" and it will help the pups grow faster and stronger. The main pstem doesn't really look all that...

Re: Ae Ae with three pups! Yay!

It was actually acquired and planted in Nov. 2011 and that winter ended up being pretty cold. I lost my beloved Red Lady papaya from the frosts that winter. I had the bananas wrapped up snug as a bug...

Re: Ice cream blue java

Any ideas what it might be then? The tall ones in the back on the left said Dwarf Namwah on the pot from the nursery, but they are anything BUT dwarf! They have a new bunch forming now also.

Re: What's blooming in your garden? (bananas)

My namwah for the second time since May. The first time didn't take because we were in the midst of tropical storm Debby which dumped a ton of rain on us and I think it messed everything up, so this...

Re: AeAe leaf edge browning..need help!

Thanks Frank,

I do believe I may have overwatered and have cut back a bit now. I do not see anything under the leaves. It seems to be doing better now. Thanks!

It's been a while since the last two leaves opened and they seem to be doing ok and not browning, so perhaps the issue has resolved itself. It's getting really hot...
