Re: What are your 2 favorite Banana plants?

From the varieties i have tried(Sucrier, Cavendish, Dwarf Cavendish, Bluggoe, Kandrian, Orinoco & an unknown from Borneo), i would say Sucrier and Kandrian were the best, followed by the Bornean...

Re: What Soil and Fertilizer is best for planting Bananas?

In 9a most ABB and some AAB banana cultivars are safe unprotected, in that they won't die left unprotected. In good years you might not get much damage and might fruit them especially if in your area...

Re: Dwarf Cavendish? Or is there any chance it will be tall?

Bananas are pretty easy here, they don’t really demand anything special to grow other than lots of water and fertilizer as long as they don’t see any damaging cold in the growing area. When cold...

Re: Roadside Fe'i

I have tried Fei but lost mine during a -2C event. They were young though and just 5cm rhizome diameter. Plus that winter was too wet and cool, so don't know if the cold or cool and wet killed the...

Re: Banana planting depth:is it important and do they adjust themselves to their liki

Bananas want well drained soils that are always moist ideally. Wet clay with bad drainage is not good, but clay that drains well and is always moist and rich in organics and minerals, is great. High...

Re: My Musa "Cuba"

Is this just a M. basjoo or is there a chance it's another species? The seller generally knew his bananas and wasn't trying to scam... but everything can happen

Re: What causes this leaf damage?

Thank you very much for your reply!

Mine got it worst on 2 random leafs, not the oldest ones only. But maybe the change to cooler(though still warm) weather contributes to that as well.
