I put mine in seed starting mix, give bottom heat and cover with plastic. I have good luck sprouting them but I lose them as seedlings. They turn brown and shrivel. Good luck.

It is the hybrid, Darjeeling Giant. Our winters lately have not been bad. Maybe down to 5-10 degrees is all. I will give them lots of protection.
