Re: Fist Year Musa Basjoo Success!!

Nice job on overwintering those! My experience is that they sort of tend to go faster the larger they get, but that has more to do with heat than anything. The hotter it gets, the faster mine have...

Re: Musa Basjoo in NW Ontario

Hopefully they will get real big for you and establish well. I would imagine you will have to really protect the corms though up there. I always thought even Basjoo were marginal for surviving...

I also know, that unless one lives or works on or near the border, that we really cannot comprehend the problems we face down there...

Re: Protecting the border

Well, I dont really see my position as "conservative" or "liberal" either. To me it is more of a "National" issue, rather than a liberal / conservative issue. I look at it like this: I wouldn't go...

Re: A little tribute to the people here

I never got to see it either I dont think. Perhaps you could get a list of people who are not kill joys, and do not mind being on youtube, and remake it with the people on that list? Just a thought.

Re: Protecting the border

As a rather FAR LEFT liberal (progressive might be a better word actually) I have to say this issue does conflict me. On the one hand I strongly disagree with the racial profiling that could take...

Re: Basjoo potted?

South facing is absolutely the way to go, especially during winter. I have a fairly large red "rojo" in a pot I overwintered inside in a south window. It was about a foot when I bought it, now its...

Re: ATTN: Sago Palm growers

Just thought I would upload a photo of just two of my Cycas Revolutas which are currently putting up new flushes. The closest one started in the beginning of may, the farther one just a couple of...

Re: ATTN: Sago Palm growers

Is it indoors? Outdoors? Was it recently moved from an area where it got indirect light, to direct sunlight? Can you post a photo of it? I have had this happen on a couple of my Cycas Revolutas but...

Re: current weather - Here we go again in the Mid Atlantic. Historic Snow Storm!

The Trachys in pots are wrapped in xmas lights and plastic, as they have been most of the winter. The crowns are exposed though, and they should be just fine.

The Needle, and the 4 Sabal Minor in...

Re: HAITI DISASTER RELIEF, PLEASE DONATE NOW. Information inside.

Thanks Cassie.

I replied to your thread too. I posted this one before I saw yours. I want to help but unfortunately the only way I really can is by donating money. It's the least that I could do.

Re: My bananas are zapped!

Before you cut, feel the trunk. Where ever it feels soft/ mushy, that part is no longer good. You'll have to cut it back to where it still feels very hard/ firm. If they didn't mush all the way...
