Re: How can I tell when to harvest?
I've never managed to figure out the pic thing on this site (I've actually given up). I just use one of the free hosting sites, and pasted the link.

Re: Winter report
Enjoy. We've been running low/mid 60's this week here in NorCal. I know our neighbor's in SoCal have been 70's. And sunny of course :)

Re: Winter report
Looks like a solid setup. If you're just using Xmas lights however, that may not be enough. I know most years the ground will freeze solid several inches down.

Re: Winter protection?
I have these already (bought from you :) ). I was just curious about how the plant gets energy with no more leaves?

Winter protection?
With the cooler nights starting to set in, I had a couple of questions how people are protecting their bananas that will not ripen before the cold weather arrives.
We normally get a couple of good...

Re: Patiently Waiting on Bananas
The weather when it gets above 90F slows things down, but they still chug along. My guess is it's still a little too young. I know here in zone 9b they take close to 18 months to flower.

Re: Houston, we have a flower!
Thanks. For the life of me, I've never been able to post pics to this site lol.
I'll give her more water. It always closes the leaves mid aft here with our 90F+ scorching days.

Re: Please identify - might be about to flower!
You definitely won't have time to harvest them lol.
I'm in 9B California and mine just flowered this week, and I won't have time to harvest them. But please update how you make out bringing them to...

Re: Houston, we have a flower!
That's encouraging. Last winter I didn't lose any leaves until that stupid freak cold spell that came late January. It's always warm here until at least late Oct in Livermore.

Houston, we have a flower!
Well looks like my dwarf Orinico has decided to flower after 18 months.
Problem is, we are running out of clock for this year.
Is there anyway this things fruits before the cold sets in, roughly...
