Re: Winter Grow

Yeah - I put mine outside a few weeks ago and they definitely took a bit of a beating. But they are bouncing back. In retrospect I pulled them out earlier than I probably should have, but I was...

Re: Dwarf Cavendish and Not Dwarf Cavendish

Sorry for the delay, I just saw your question.

I don't personally know anyone growing bananas in greenhouses, I am sure someone is doing it here in BC, I just don't know about it.

As for me I...

And the diameter?? 1M - am I reading that correctly?...

Re: Winter Grow

Yeah, its doing great. Growing slowly of course, but the leaves are hardly showing any age and they are standing as proud as one could expect from an indoor grow. I think it would be a good candidate...

Re: My blue java trees look pathetic. Is it disease or just weather?

Re: Winter Grow

Feb 01 - 3 months to go and so far so good. I am very impressed with the African contingent: the Ensete seedlings, Matooke and Zebrina. They have been thriving inside this year (minus the aphids and...

Re: Growing Ensette from seeds

I feel compelled to update my response to this post as new evidence has presented itself:

Of the Ensete seed I collected last year, all of the seeds I had from one of the plants were floaters, the...

Re: Uganda - a few pics

That's annoying, the neem oil seems to work well though. Last year I only had to spray a couple of times and that seemed to do the trick. I accidentally sprayed the primed but not painted windowsills...

Re: Dwarf Cavendish and Not Dwarf Cavendish

Agreed. If the files are too big it won't load them but it won't tell you they are too big, they just won't show up in the gallery.

Just use a picture manager program and compress the pics for 'web...

Re: tracking the growth of my ensete glaucum

After you dig that guy up and cut the leaves off, do you pot it in a dry or moist mix? And do you take the outdoor soil off the roots or not?
