Trimming roots while potting up

I'm repotting a 6 foot Orinoco and the roots are huge. They've wrap around the bottom so I need to cut them back because even going to a larger pot I can;t spread them all out.

How close to the corm...

August 18th,

I'm in zone 6 so I have some time before my first frost. I have an Orinoco with 2 pups: One about 1.5ft and the other about 8 inches.

Would you separate them now or wait until Spring...

Bananas (DC) available in NJ

I was at Home Depot in Totowa, NJ this morning and they had Dwarf Cavendish 6" for $9.99. They look to be in perfect condition.
