My Raja Puri has a flower head coming out. The wind is really shredding the leaves. They like the cool weather now. Hope the others start flowering soon.
Most are more than a foot in diameter.

I live in Peoria and my banana plants really got hit when it went down to 28F. They were way too tall to try and protect them. The stems are okay but leaves turned brown. Lost a bunch of bananas....

How many hands are on your banana bunch? So far I only have 5 on my Sweetheart and 5 on Dwarf Brazilian.

Direction of flower head

I have three banana plants shooting their flower heads now. Sweetheart, Dwarf Brazilian and Dwarf Namwah. Their flowers are all hanging to the SSW direction. Is that the norm?

My Dwarf Namwah doesn't burn. It seems to be wind, sun and heat resistant. New leaf is as green as can be. See above picture.

In Peoria when the monsoon season comes I find my plants bake that much faster. Of course its 110 + degrees also.

Tried a lot of banana varieties but am staying with cold tolerant ones.
