i use a similar method to tog but mine is u shaped aluminum about 3' and then i cut 1"x2" pieces of 1/16" aluminum plate and rivit them to the u shaped stakes then with a number and letter punch,...

mine also had this problem when i first potted it up last winter ,it was root rot, i gave it a good soaking of liquid copper and did not water till i seen new growth...BTW Sandy your hua moa is doing...

yes like Dan and Tara said it will take maybe 2 months to really start growing and then it will be slow because the cold is setting in, i dont water mine at all thru the winter, only if they start to...

the best way to split them woould be to dig all of them up and wash with water so you can see what you have as far as roots, then you can split them with a knife, if it were me i would leave them...

the only thing i can see is the leaf deformation that a lot of us have seen latley, im calling it the twisted leaf syndrome?????it will straighten out on its own, at least mine have?????

also Iwabirds it helps a lot to have your location on your profile so at a glance we can tell where you are for help.....in my location they pup like crazy and overwinter easy, i dont water at all...
